Hi everyone,

Paying it forward with details of my recent approval. DTV workcaction (freelancer) approved in HCMC.

Applied Dec 23, provided:

- Employment confirmation letter: a letter written by me to explain that i am a freelancer and the sole director of a sole proprietor company (registered outside Thailand), explanation of the nature of my work, description of engagements over the last six months. Emphasised that i dont work for Thai companies and i that i am earning in foreign currency.

- professional portfolio

- company registration

- letter from my accountant confirming company registration

- two contracts from the last 6 months

- bank statements from the last six months (provided for two accounts - both accounts combined had a total balance of USD $15,000 in December but not in the previous months. One of them was a WISE account)

- screenshot of my LinkedIn profile

- biodata page of passport

- photo

- entry stamp for Vietnam

- Booking.com confirmation for hotel in Vietnam

Dec 27 was asked for 6 months of bank statements (previously had filtered for income only, this time sent in full statements - responded within an hour of receiving email)

Jan 3 status moved from “Pending document check” to “Pending approval”.

Jan 6 approved (9 business days in total when excluding weekends and embassy holidays)

Good luck!

Did you apply in person in HCMC or did you do it online while there? If you did it in person did they hold onto your passport the whole time? I'm scared to apply in person in a foreign country and not know how long I'd have to stay if they take my passport during processing.

Hi, I'd like to ask did you have to get your business registration notarized? And could you please share with me the letter from your accountant confirming company registration? Thank you a lot in advance!

Thanks for sharing! I just want to some clarification on the bank statements from the last 6 months. So you don't need to have $15k USD in the account all 6 months? You only need the $15k in the account when you apply. So if all 6 months before the month you apply all had less than $15k in the account, it will be ok?

Thanks! Flying to HCMC on Wednesday 🤞🏼🤞🏼

May I ask, the account, was it a checking account? I have the money in a savings account, that’s ok too? (I’m applying for soft power so I guess they’ll be less interested in seeing salary deposits)

Passport, you only provided photo of the Vietnam entry stamp (and of course the bio data page)? Or all pages with stamps?

TIA 🙏🏼
