Need urgent help for my DTV application please. My flight is next week and I just received a request for additional documents for my DTV (Destination Thailand Visa). The request:

1. Other request documents: Upload recent pay slip from the company that must show your full name and company's name.

*- I don't receive a payslip. I receive a direct wire transfer/direct deposit into my checking account. Can I provide a statement showing this?*

2. Other request documents: Upload an employment verification letter from an employer or self-employer that include the full name, position, *digital nomad/ remote worker, period of employment and signed by the authorized i.e. HR department or manager (Issue within 6 months)

*- I'm not an employee therefore I don't have an employment verification letter. I have a couple of contracts with my clients.*

3. Other request documents: Upload financial evidence or recent bank statement only that include date of issue, your full name: amount of more than THB 500,000 or USD 16,000.

*- I had previously uploaded my bank statement showing this. Why are they asking for this again? I provided bank statement along with my investment account statement as an add-on.*

I previously provided all the documents, but I am being requested again for this. Given the timeline of my flight, I want to make sure I am providing the correct documents.

Can anyone please provide guidance on what docs I should be providing in my case? Thank you very much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking assistance with additional document requirements for their DTV application, which is due before their upcoming flight. They have been asked to provide several documents including recent pay slips, an employment verification letter, and bank statements showing sufficient funds. However, the user is self-employed and does not have standard payslips or an employment verification letter. Community responses suggest alternatives, such as creating their own employment letter as a contractor, providing documentation of client payments, and ensuring that only bank account statements are submitted to meet financial evidence requirements. Several users stress the importance of following embassy instructions accurately and providing clear documentation to avoid delays.

This is exactly why digital nomad is too complicated. If all else fails go do the soft power version

It wasn't too complicated. I received my visa already!

I think I confused them because I sent too much documentation. I initially received guidance to overwhelm them with docs which is why I sent my investment account (which I think confused them)

Up to date bank statement needed. The statement you uploaded might be 1 or 2 months old. I'm guessing you invoice clients and they transfer money into your account. I'd send a couple of invoices and show corresponding amount in bank account. Do up your own employment letter, saying you are required to work remotely, sign it as company Director.

Hey
@John ******
thanks. The invoice is literally a text message reminding them of payment. I can highlight the amounts on my statement as per the agreement. Last statement available is for September.

Re. Employment letter - I can sign it for myself? As a 1099 contractor
John *******
@Hussain ******
yes. Your the Managing Director of your own business. Just make sure you include has to perform his duties remotely. Get AI to do up an invoice for you. Thai officials love paper.

1. The paid invoices that you sent to your clients is also accepted.

2. Download a sample Employment Letter (make sure to edit the details). Send it to your client and request him to sign it. Make sure the letter states that you're free to work for the client remotely from any location. Upload the scanned copy of this document. Explain to your client that you need this document for Visa application.

Embassy might also ask for your client's company registration documents. I think it'll be better if you can secure that too before hand.

3. They don't accept Investment accounts. The required fund needs to be in a bank account under your name. Only upload your bank account statement.

- I think I confused them when I submitted my investment account along with my checking account.

Re. #2 - That's a good idea - thank you!
Eric ******
Wow, some people skate right in with very little issue, and others that get it a bit tougher. Sorry, but good luck with it. I know it can be stressful when it's down to the wire like that.
Tim ***********
I don't think they accept investments. You need the liquid cash in your bank account - if it's in there, then that's all they need but if it's also in investment accounts combined with your bank account to equal 500k baht, then that is probably the problem.

So what kind of help do you need? You want someone from the group to provide you these documents? Only you can do it

1. Affidavit...self employed. 2. Bank statement/ pay stub/income verification/copy of Llc, if applicable

I was asked for similar things by LA.

Don’t panic…

If you are your own company you just make paperwork showing what they want.

1. Show the statement for the bank deposits and have your company make a payroll statement with your name, pay rate, hours worked, total payment, taxes withheld etc.

2. Have the company write a letter stating your job duties and that you can do them digitally.

3. Get your bank statement with the required information on your laptop (instead of your phone app), make a screenshot and print to pdf.

If this is not enough, they will request more.

I can’t tell where you are from…..but you possibly can come into Thailand visa exempt for a period of time.

Once you visa is approved, you leave Thailand and come back in,

@Cliff ********
It is not allowed to be in Thailand during approval process, chances they really check this are low, but it can result in rejecting the application.

Thanks! Regarding 1 -- I don't have my own company. I'm just a 1099 contractor that receives direct deposit / wire transfers into my account. I have a Master Services Agreement to show my engagement with my client.
Manomay ******
Self employed-write your own letter and show business license.

I've read others that are self employed and don't have payslip show their client contracts and invoice payment

Send again copy of account showing funds

Thanks! I don't have a business license. Only the signed agreement and direct deposit/wire transfers into my account. Do you know if this would suffice?

why don't you ask whoever is 'asking' for the additional documents? Or did you want 58 different answers from FB experts?

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered the same. I did try reaching out to them but communication is via email and it's very delayed. Washington DC branch
David ********
@Hussain ******
you must deal with immagration that way they will identify exactly what they want. If you ask others here you will be just sending random documents.it may only be one or two additional documents.Only they know don't waste your time here it's only a distraction. Good luck hope it goes well. You may have to delay your flight you should never book a flight until you are approved with any visa application 👍
Luit *****************
@David *******
Booking a flight is not a problem, as long as you can cancel or change date.
Butch *******
In most cases they require 2 copies of all documents, yes ALL documents, I'm at Thai immigration as we speak and having to copy all 22 pages
Brian *********
@Butch ******
from what they’ve said, it’s electronic chief. 😉
Brian *********
They are looking for security you will not be a burden on Thailand.

I can’t defend sometimes what they ask doesn’t make sense or relevant. But if you want the ticket?

Bank statement. How many months did you give, I gave a full year.

How are you showing income? How is income attained?

Do you have a job or some other means? Depending, maybe DTV isn’t the right visa?
Hussain *******

Thanks
@Brian ********
I can provide up to 4 months of statements. Income is via contracts. I have a contract for the next year - signed.

Income shows as wire transfers or venmo payments in my checking account. Can the contract work in leu of an employment verification letter signed by someone in HR?
John **********
@Hussain ******
do you have the full 500k in a bank account? Investment accounts are no good, it must be in a bank account.

Write yourself an employment letter.

Show your most recent tax return even if it is from last year
Brian *********
@Hussain ******
contract work is indirect employment. So agreement amount pages and endorsement pages should work.

Make sure you clarify you’re working as an ‘independent contractor’.

Not knowing your country of origin, is there any government based paperwork to evidence you’re have an income?
Hussain *******

@Brian ********
I'm applying from USA at Washington branch. Government paperwork is typically only tax documents but that's all from last year.
Brian *********
@Hussain ******
okay. So it sounds like tax records/filings maybe all you have to offer?

They create criteria that totally misses some situations. Great example. DTV is sort of a focus on freelancers, but most freelancers don’t have an employer. 🤷‍♂️

It sounds like you really need to speak with someone at the embassy to clarify what will satisfy the criteria?
Brandon ************
Each embassy sets their own requirements. So what someone else used might not work for you. You need to contact the embassy you applied through and ask them as they are the ones who are deciding what they will accept.
