TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a Non-O visa based on marriage in Thailand, you typically need the following documents: both front and back copies of your marriage certificate (translated into Thai if foreign), a copy of your Thai wife's ID card and house book listing, a copy of your passport data page, your visa to Laos, and your entry stamp to Laos. The application fee for the year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa is around 5000 baht (about $200 USD) depending on the consulate. Note that different consulates may have specific requirements, so it's advisable to check their websites for precise details.

As a rule getting a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on having a thai wife in Savannakhet needs this documentation:

marriage certificates front & back (thai or foreign ones translated into thai)

copy of your thai wife's thai I/D and her house book listing

copy of your passport data page

your visa to Lao

your entry stamp to Lao

That and 5000baht gets you the visa..

nope, most people don't live at the address listed in their thai house book.

Do you both have to be living at that address or not

Ajarn Andy Robinson no, it's the blue book that every thai national in the country is listed in. It has nothing to do with whether she owns a place or not,

Believe me your thai wife certainly knows what her house book listing is. ;)

If you were married abroad, you don't need your foreign marriage certificate translated into thai. I know friends who were married in the US and their marriage certificate from there worked fine.

Ho Chi Minh will give a year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage from them.

original marriage certificate

copies of:

front&back of the marriage certificate

front&back of your thai wife's I/D card

thai wife's house book listing

data page of your passport

You also need a letter from your wife asking that the consulate issue the visa.

Remember the thai consulates in Vietnam ONLY take US dollars and the year-long, multi-entry Non-O is $200 USD
