TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a multi-entry O visa based on marriage to a Thai citizen at the Savannakhet consulate in Laos, you need to provide the following documents: an application form with 2 photos, the original and a copy of your marriage certificate, a signed copy of your passport's photo page, a signed copy of your wife's ID card, a signed copy of your wife's Blue Book (Tabian Ban), and a visa fee of 5000 Baht. Some applicants mentioned that a letter from the wife confirming the marriage is not necessary at this consulate. It is noted that financial proof is typically not required for this consulate compared to others.

Okay, right now the two go-to thai consulates for year-long multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visas based on marriage to a thai that don't require ANY proof of financials are the ones in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam and Savannakhet Lao.

They are by far the easiest thai consulates to get this type of visa from in S/E Asia

I don't know if the form to fill in Savannaketh is same from Vientiane or not, in Vientiane it need to fill address in Laos and Local (Laos) guarantor. How to fill this if we don't know any person who can be our guarantor and if we're not live in Laos. Any advice ? Thanks

Thai immigration website states you should have proof of financial means. A copy of our joint checking account and a copy of the first page of a brokerage account is more then enough the last few times applying for a type O non immigrant visa based on marriage when applying at a Thai Consulate in the US.

I've just recently been to savannakhet in Laos to get my none o multiple entry visa based on marriage and NO financials required and very user-friendly like Tod Daniels said. Oh and the baguettes were good there too 😊

I see. Non uniformity of requirements depending on the Consulate. Savanakhet appears to have a more relaxed view ...great to hear.

You should also have a letter from your wife stating that you are still married when applying for an non immigrant type O visa based on visiting your Thai wife.

are you sure of this ? Because this Monday i will apply my Non-O visa in Vientiane. I've prepared all documents required. If they only issue Single Entry then will waste my time to there.

Cheers, was just concerned that the visa is valid for 1 year but you can only stay 90 days at a time so thought putting 1 year might be invalid

I just put in how long I was already in Thailand which was a year anyway, and staying another year on the New non o visa. I don't think it really matters that. As long as u take the correct documents with the application form copies and originals
