What do I need to know about the SETV application process regarding guarantors and accommodation proof?

Hello, I have been looking at the SETV applications from the Yangon and KL consulate sites and have a couple (hopefully simple questions.

(first off, US passports, currently staying in Phuket)

1) they both ask local guarantor and guarantor in Thailand information. What would this be?

2) the KL checklist asks to have proof of reservation/accommodations for the 'whole of stay in Thailand'

--so.. that wouldn't be a TM30 issue? if we are renting a place would a copy of the lease be sufficient?

--now if that lease happens to go past the date the SETV would be good for, will that cause problems?

(long story.. but in end we really needed a place that took pets short notice and this was cheap enough (and nice) we could risk having to pay rent for a place we didnt end up staying the whole time)

debating which place to use.. Yangon seems easy and we haven't been there before but flights are more expensive than KL.. but we've been to KL... hmm.. (that's just a side comment, mainly concerned with questions 1 & 2)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about requirements for the SETV application, specifically regarding local guarantors and proof of accommodation. Responses indicate that it's acceptable to leave the guarantor sections blank if unclear, and that a lease for accommodation suffices for immigration purposes. The TM30 form does not apply in this context. There are also personal experiences shared about the ease of obtaining the SETV in Yangon compared to Kuala Lumpur.

I would do Yagoon again and I have no opinion about KL

Yagoon very easy.. I have not done it in KL. I always use my rental lease which is beyond any expected stay.. Meaning my lease agreement is for a year (or whatever) and the SETV is good for only 90 days.. No one has every questioned it.

I do not know what "guarantor and guarantor" is, I only brought the normal stuff.. Proof of funds, onward travel, accommodation.. I don't remember what was required - I just bring them all, always.

I am at the airport in Yangon waiting for the flight back to Bangkok after getting a SETV today and I have to say it was a breeze. Didn't even need the onward ticket. Just sharing my experience. 😊

no nothing though I did bring cash in case they asked.

@Sh**
, did you need to show proof of funds? 20K baht or the equivalent in a bank account?

1. Just leave open. 2. Nothing to do with TM30, that is a form from Immigration Office in the country. Your lease contract for the whole period will do. .Thanks for the rest of the story, but I can not find any question or something visa related in it.

ok, so no problem if lease is longer than the SETV would be valid for?
