# Has anyone recently filled out an application for a Tourist visa?

# The form asks for 2 local guarantors in Thailand [names and addresses].

# Never seen this before and just wondering what you wrote if you did not know of any?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation centers around concerns regarding the Tourist visa application process in Thailand, particularly the requirement for two local guarantors, which some users find unusual. One user suggests using the hotel where you plan to stay as a guarantor if you do not know any locals. Others mention that the request for guarantors has existed for some time, though typically only one is needed from the host country. The overall sentiment is one of shared experiences and strategies to navigate the application requirements.

They've asked for this since like forever, but usually it's ONE guarantor, not 2.

Actually, it's usually one guarantor from back home and one in Thailand that they would request details on..not two in Thailand, but two in total, yes.

you do realise you cannot just walk into the Thai Embassy in KL?

You need an appointment to lodge your application.

You then need to supply them a mobile number that they contact you on once your application is completed or refused.

You then need to book another appointment to pick up your passport.

I hope you have allowed a few weeks to complete it.

you mentioned "I hope you have allowed a few weeks to complete it." - Can it really take a few weeks for KL embassy to get the new visa into the passport? Did you recently experience this or know of someone who had this experience? Thank you for any updates.

take a look at making an appointment.

The last time I looked, it was at least a month in advance.

Then once they dealt with your application, they will send you a link to book a further appointment to collect

Ok thanks. Yeah the online booking system is very slow and in my opinion unclear. My husband has in fact now got both appointment booked, but how all this plays out is another story!

Where are you applying? Most countries have switched to evisa and do not use paper applications.

For guarantor you just put the hotel you're staying at for a tourist visa.

the page below is the only page we have found regarding visas, docs required and the online booking system for visa application and passport pick up. I have heard a few mentions of uploading docs online for the visa application, but I do not know where this link is found.

So I guess that leaves me with the option to fill out one of the guarantor sections using my hotel address.

Yes going to Thai Embassy in Kualar Lumpur to apply. So just to confirm that we do not need an evisa? I will look into the site you referenced.

if you're applying from Malaysia then they don't use evisa so you'll have to follow the embassy instructions

the evisa link is easy to find on Google but if you're applying from Malaysia is not relevant
