Just wanted to share my recent experience at the Thai embassy in Khota Bharu.
I was getting my 4th (and final) SETV, so was dubious about how much scrutiny I would be under, but tried to get everything in ship-shape order.
Luckily everything was a success ๐๐ผ
I showed:
.Completed application form, with Thai guarantor section filled in (my gf).
.Bank statement (according to the thaivisaservice folk it use to be a matter of showing 20K baht *cash* at this embassy, but thats not the case anymore)
.A letter from my girlfriend, saying im a guest and showing her ID, contact details, address, and a scan of my previous TM30 reciept.
.A flight ticket leaving Thailand.
.I was also required to show a flight back to my home country (UK). Itโs the first time they asked for this, probably because itโs my 4th SETV. So I bought a kinda pricey, but fully refundable, plane ticket back to London. (Iโm going to Turkey on the way back to see some family so Iโll cancel/refund)
.It cost 150 Malaysian Ringit cash.
.Also, I dressed smartly. Long shirt and trousers.
Just thought disclosing these details would help someone else in a similar position to me.
Hope this helps ๐๐ผ
(Also in regard to the Malaysian borders around Narithiwat/Yala etc. - my Thai friend was there recently for work, and says security is very tight, especially at the borders - so best to avoid that region)

Not yet James, Iโll be spending a few days on Langkawi and then enter back via boat at the Satun border. So I can confirm if everything is fine there once I come back in a few days. I know itโs wise to wait until I definitely cross back but just wanted to relay the experience at that specific embassy ๐๐ผ
