Hello, I'm thinking applying for a SETV either in Sg or KL. If I understand well KL doesn t require any financial proof but need full acomodation booking for the exact amount of days, correct? As per SG, no need to show accomodation booking but need financial proof, right? Which financial proof do you give them, I have the money on my account, I just print my bank statement ? what do you think is the easiest/fastest? Sg or Kl? I know Vientiane is the easiest one but too expensive to fly directly there with family (2 kids). thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion involves applying for a Thailand Tourist Visa (SETV) either in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. In Kuala Lumpur, an applicant must provide full accommodation booking and has been noted that a single reservation for a night may suffice if other requirements are met. In Singapore, no accommodation booking is needed, but proof of funds (such as a printed bank statement) is required. The conversation also includes a mention of a cheaper route to Vientiane via Udon Thani and discusses the online application process and timing for traveling after getting visa approval.

Another cheaper option is to fly to Udon Thani and take the minivan from the airport to the Laos border (about 1 hour). Then taxi or bus to Vientiane (30 mins).

Hi
@Nad***
, Tod is correct regarding what KL stipulates regarding documentation they require but, I've always found provided I had everything else that was required then, just a single 1-3 night reservation of a hostel / hotel (starting from the day you land in thailand) was enough. The last time I applied was 2 months ago and I was successful with a booking for a single night stay at a hostel. Also, the hotel opposite the embassy used to allow you to print out documentation (there was a office at the back, on the ground floor) but i'm not sure if they still provide this service as the last time I used them was in 2015 - once I had 'forgot' to purchase a onward flight and was able to purchase and print out my flight using their computer and printer (for a charge).

You are correct, in KL you need to show reservations for the entire duration of your trip too, not just for a few days. (y)

you apply ONLINE at the thai consulate in Singapore, thru this link

You need proof of onward travel as well as proof of funds in Singapore. You print out your bank statement for it

@Nad***
, unless I'm wrong, they tell you when your application is approved and you can fly over and submit it after that.
