ORIGINAL POSTERI'm currently staying in a guesthouse in Bangkok. I'm here as a tourist. At some point, I might have to go to the immigration office to get an extension. I'm here on a 30 day visa exempt stamp. My question is this : do I have to worry about TM 30? I will only be staying in Bangkok.

You will indeed need to have a TM30 filed in order to get a 30 day extension at IT Square Laksi Plaza <- the immigration office that people on free entry stamps go to get the 30 day extensions.
So talk to who ever runs your guest house because they're supposed to be filing TM30's on their guests 🙂
