First time requesting the 1 year extension of my non o (married to a Thai) and wanted to know just what forms I could download and print from the immigration wen site, just so I've got a heads start.

I'm confused whether I need a TM 6 as I can't see it on the immigration site. Please can you help with the correct forms I can download from the site.

I've already started on the other bits, including the photos of myself and my wife outside the house, house books, seasoned 400k etc.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
To request a 1-year extension of your Non-O visa (married to a Thai), you should download the TM7 application form from the immigration website. It is advised to print the form double-sided on one piece of paper. The TM6 form, which is the departure card, is not needed for this process. Additional forms may be provided during your visit to the immigration office.

The TM6 is your departure card

You want form Tm7 application for extension (it's two pages but print it front to back on one piece of paper).

That's about it, for the extension. If there's any other forms you need to sign they'll hand them to you at the office.

Don't forget to do a 90-day check-in and get a re-entry permit, you never know when you have to leave the country quickly.

you're getting the cart before the horse. How about we let him apply for the year extension based on marriage (which is when they'll give him the paper that tells him when his FIRST 90 day report is due) and then AFTER he gets his 30 day under consideration stamp changed to a year extension he can decide if he wants to buy a re-entry permit.

, just go apply for your extension like you plan on, they'll give you a small paper that tells you when you need to do your first 90 day report. Don't worry about it at all until then

90 day reporting?

My post was just a reminder to check for other immigration papers that may be needed, best to get all you might need while there.

Re the REP, I never had any intention of leaving Thailand, but a few years ago I had a family emergency, I did not have a REP and eventually got one at the airport. Inevitably there were problems and I nearly missed my flight.

Getting a REP while doing a 1-year extension could save you a lot of hassle.

and as I said, when he first applies for the extension based on marriage he is only going to get a 30 day under consideration stamp AND if he got a re-entry permit at that time it'd only be good for 30 days. He's gotta wait until he goes back after the under consideration stamp and gets the year extension inked in to buy a re-entry permit that is valid the whole year

you make a valid point that he should think about a re-entry permit when he gets his extension (y)

You will get a 30 day under consideration stamp when you apply for the year extension and pay the 1900baht. You go back on the date on that stamp and they will ink the extension into your passport.

THEN

after you get the year extension inked in if you want to, you can get a re-entry permit (single 1000baht or multiple for 3800baht).
