Question 1: Once I enter initially on a workation DTV, do I need to submit a TM-30 within a day or two? Question 2: Do I need to border bounce on day 180, or do I need to border bounce on day 179? When I re-enter the 180 day clock starts over, right? Or do I need to check in with immigration every 30 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon entering Thailand on a workation DTV, a TM-30 form must be submitted by the hotel or landlord within 24 hours. Regarding the 180-day visa condition, you can border bounce on day 180 or leave before that, specifically on day 179, to reset your 180-day period. Additionally, a 90-day immigration report is required after 90 consecutive days in Thailand.

as a slow traveler, I intend to move around somewhat often, Provence to Provence, region to region. How does that affect things like immigration check-ins, driver's license application processing, etc?

It’s the hotel / landlord who has to make the TM30 within 24 hours, and a new one will be done everytime you change adress.

After 90 CONSECUTIVE days in Thailand you must file a 90-day report at Immigration.
