Do I need to provide proof of accommodation for a Thailand tourist visa in Ho Chi Minh City?

Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh). I and my family are flying to get a tourist visa. From what I read it is pretty straight forward. You need:

-Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months

-Visa application form completely filled out (download here)

-Recent( 4 x 6 cm.) photograph of the applicant.

-Evidence of travel (air/bus ticket IN and OUT Thailand)

The big question, anyone knows if recently they require proof of your place to stay? I'm working on this one, but it is not 100% solid and right now I have been staying at a friends place. I have a condo rental that will start the next month, but documents are not to me yet. Just want to work out if this is even an issue.

Their site, the first time I checked it was this link: [members only]

But then I found this link as well:

People posting online, I have yet to read about proof of where you will stay.

I can work out something, just not sure I need to and it would be easier if I didn't have to.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking clarification on whether proof of accommodation is currently required for a tourist visa application to Thailand while in Ho Chi Minh City. They have outlined necessary documents such as a valid passport, visa application form, recent photo, and evidence of travel but are uncertain about needing to provide proof of where they will be staying in Thailand.
