I have an appointment in 2 weeks to apply for my DTV in Ho Chi Minh. I have a couple questions and I would greatly appreciate the advice!
1) I have found from some snooping on this group that I will need to show a bank statement of THB 500k from the past 6 months but that it does not have to be the full amount. I have made the final deposit today to finally hit the 500k but I was only able to open this bank account back in mid May which was 5 months ago. Would that be an issue? I also plan to show a 6 month statement from my other bank account which has roughly around $7000 USD to date. Would this also be supplemental to the app?
2) Do I also need to show a return ticket or something that says I will leave Thailand again when re-entering BKK after Ho Chi Minh?
3) My CONFIRMED appointment date is October 2nd but I keep seeing that they will be switching over to the e-visa system in October but since I was able to get the confirmed appointment, I will just assume that the in-person application is still allowed?
The user is seeking advice regarding their upcoming DTV visa application in Ho Chi Minh, particularly on the sufficiency of a 5-month bank statement showing THB 500k, the necessity of a return ticket to enter Thailand after Ho Chi Minh, and concerns about the transition to an e-visa system per reports of new procedures starting in October. Comments from the community suggest that showing multiple bank statements to meet the 500k requirement is acceptable, and a return ticket is generally not required. They confirm that having a confirmed appointment is sufficient, despite the upcoming changes to the visa system.
I have three bank accounts and showed all three for a combined total of 500,000 baht. it wasn't a problem for them. I had no ticket out of Thailand and they didn't ask for one.
I took advice of others and had a very precise cover letter listing all the documents I was giving and especially showing how the bank accounts added up to the final total of more than 500,000 baht. I think that helps a lot as they don't have to figure things out on their own
