Hi everyone!

My partner and I are in Vietnam and would like to apply for a 60 Tourist Thai Visa (with a plan to extend 30 days).

We have booked our flight to Chiang Mai for Dec 7 & hope to have the visa sorted asap.

Before we go to the embassy with our physical passport / ID, is there anything else we need to apply?

We’ve read that a recent 4x6 photo may be needed. Is this correct for a 60 day visa?

Any information RE the documents we require would be helpful, there’s a lot of info online and some of it is conflicting.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A couple in Vietnam is seeking information on applying for a 60-day Tourist Visa for Thailand, scheduled to arrive in Chiang Mai on December 7. They are concerned about what documents are necessary for the visa application, as they have encountered conflicting information online. A commenter suggests checking the embassy's official website for the most accurate requirements, emphasizing that some consulates may require an appointment. Another commenter notes that applying online from their home country might simplify the process.

Is try and book it on you're home town version as they don't require you to pysically go in just upload docs online

they are already in Vietnam and therefore if they want to apply they must use a Thai consulate or embassy where they physically are, in Vietnam. Evisa is for before you travel.

oh ok handy to know as I'll have to do that cheers 🙏

There shouldn't be any conflicting information.

Go the website of the embassy or consulate you want to apply at. LOOK at the website and look at the requirements they have listed. This is what you need.

I believe one of the consulates in Vietnam also requires an appointment, so you need to check about that as well.

the Saigon consulate requires an appointment and you must bring the email that you receive, confirming the appointment. They will not let you in without it.

Also, the requirement for bank statements is confusing. They want to see 6 months of statements.

Finally, the US$40 must be in crisp, brand new bills.
