I have a question about border bouncing. I'm in Thailand now on a visa exempt 30 day. I'm going Monday for my extension but would like to stay longer. Is the extension 30 or 60 (US visa) & how long do I have to stay in Cambodia for my bounce. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about extending their stay in Thailand, currently on a visa-exempt 30-day entry. They are planning to visit Cambodia for a border bounce but are unsure whether the extension they are eligible for is 30 or 60 days, as well as how long they must remain in Cambodia. Responses clarify that a visa-exempt entry can be extended by another 30 days and that they can instantly return to Thailand after crossing into Cambodia, with no required minimum stay.

Visa exempt is eligible for one 30 day extension.

If you leave the country you do not need to spend any amount of time in order to return. As long as you stamp out of Thailand, stamp into another country (you can't just turn around on the bridge and come back without entering the other country), and then stamp back into Thailand, you'll get another 30 days visa exempt.

You can only enter visa exempt by land border 2 times per year.

God Dieux tourist visas are for tourists. Spending 9+ months in a country is not being a tourist. They will tell you to get a proper visa for your stay, or go home.

Thanks for the VERY helpful info.

Is there a limit on air? IE Malaysia?

Thanks.

there is no official limit to visa exempt entry by air. But eventually they're going to start questioning you and asking why you're living in Thailand and not getting a proper visa for doing so.

You just have to cross the border and then can turn straight back around and come back to Thailand

you have to stamp out of Thailand and into another country before you can return. You can't just turn around on the bridge halfway there.

at what point did I say half cross a bridge ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ once you enter the other country.... which would clearly mean going through immigration ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ you can come back.. there is no rule that the person has to stay 1 day or 2 weeks or anything like that..

just crossing the border of Thailand doesn't mean you entered another country.

The way you said it leaves potential for misunderstanding.
