If anyone is going to Chong Chom to border bounce - the immigration officer said that you can leave Thailand, but only re enter by air.

Guess I'm going to Laos tonight.

Three of us went to the border 2 UK passport holders and an Australian passport holder.

Answer summary

An expat shared their experience at the Chong Chom border, detailing that they were informed by an immigration officer that one can leave Thailand but must re-enter by air. This is particularly relevant for those planning to border bounce to a neighboring country like Laos. There were additional comments discussing visa extensions amid travel restrictions due to the virus, suggesting contacting consulates for special requests.

What happens when my 30 day extension runs out on April 9th if I can't fly to Europe. Can I keep extending my Visa?

You can contact your consulate and request them to issue a letter to the Thai immigration requesting for an additional 30 day extension because you can not travel because of the virus. I *believe* only Italy is the only European country issuing that letter for now.

The rule of thumb is, if you can fly home, you won't get that letter.
