TLDR : Answer Summary
The O-A retirement visa allows for multiple entries as long as you enter Thailand before the expiration date on the visa. If your O-A visa expires on August 28, 2018, you must enter Thailand before that date to receive a one-year stamp. If you plan to leave Thailand and return in October, you may need a re-entry permit, which can be purchased at immigration offices or the airport before you leave. However, if your visa has a multiple entry option, you may not need to purchase a re-entry permit unless your plans change.

don't make it more difficult than it is. Non-OA comes with a multiple entry. No need to buy one before end of the lifespan of the non-OA

I know but i read this: "Check please if your non-OA has already multiple entry on it". The non Immigrant O-A visa is multiple entry Visa..

"If you fly into Thailand and the Visa is still valid you get 1 year Admitted to stay. If your visa is passed the valid until date you need a re-entry ticket to keep your current Admitted to Stay alive" you stated earlier....

But non-OA comes with multiple entry, so no need to get another one.

Make it difficult? I just try to explain how it works, but to make it more easy, take a look here:

The Non Immigrant O-A Visa is a multiple entry Visa AS long AS you enter before the valid untill or enter before date stamped on the Visa. When this date is in the past you need a re-entry permit to keep your Admitted to Stay period alive.

Just to tag on here. If you have the multi. you can leave the country as many times as you like w/o re-entry permit? Yes?

Check please if your non-OA has already multiple entry on it, saves you money. Mine has.

Thanks for the question and replies. Our OA visa has last entry date of 30 August so it really helps to know the procedures for re-entry. Next year we'll be asking how to do an extension!!

Thx. Where Do I buy reentry? When?
Alan *******
You don’t have to buy the reentry permit until you are ready to leave. The multiple is a good investment, in case your plans change.

you buy it from the immigration office OR at the airport before you fly out.

If that date of 28 August is your enter before date, you will need to purchase a reentry permit. Unless you plan to make other trips out of the country a single reentry permit will take care of your return after your departure.

If you fly into Thailand and the Visa is still valid you get 1 year Admitted to stay. If your visa is passed the valid until date you need a re-entry ticket to keep your current Admitted to Stay alive. The re-entry ticket is valid as long as your current Admitted to Stay period.

yep you'll get stamped in for a full year as long as you enter before the "enter before" date on the visa
