TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a DTV visa, which is a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years, you do not need to obtain a re-entry permit to leave Thailand and return. Each entry grants you a new 180-day stay in the country. However, it's important to ensure that you have the appropriate documentation, such as a printout of your visa.

No, you don't need re-entry permit. I did it twice already since October when i got DTV.

Make sure you have the print out of your visa. Either the PDF copy or the sticker in your passport depending where you filed. Enter and leave as you wish as often as you want. Don't stay in country longer than 180 days. No re-entry stamp required.

DTV is a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years. You don’t need a re-entry permit to leave and return. It’s built in to the visa. Every entry grants you 180 days.

No need to extend. Just visit any country, and reenter. Then, again, 180 days more for free.

The cost of extension is 1900 baht. 10,000 baht is the cost of the DTV.

That’s debatable at this point. Some sources- actually immigration related have suggested 10,00 baht but as yet unconfirmed.

Agreed, but since it’s not confirmed yet, an extension still costs 1,900. I wouldn’t be surprised if they raised it to 10,000.

No one knows what’s needed for an extension as yet. Probably just easier to do a border bounce for a new 180 day entry.

just to clarify I get a new 180 day stamp each time? At which point do I then pay the 10k then for extension? Or is the stamp only for my remaining days from my initial 180 days?

you never have ti pay again the 10,000 bht. If you leave and come back your stamp is free and 180 days starts again
