I have my DTV already, I want to go a quick holiday to Laos for a week, can I leave and come back in without making a re-entry permit or do I need to make one?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a DTV visa, which is a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years, you do not need to obtain a re-entry permit to leave Thailand and return. Each entry grants you a new 180-day stay in the country. However, it's important to ensure that you have the appropriate documentation, such as a printout of your visa.

No, you don't need re-entry permit. I did it twice already since October when i got DTV.
Robert ***********
Make sure you have the print out of your visa. Either the PDF copy or the sticker in your passport depending where you filed. Enter and leave as you wish as often as you want. Don't stay in country longer than 180 days. No re-entry stamp required.

O, you don’t. Read in the follow link:

Oh my gosh, many different answers. I think it will be better to ask your immigration.

DTV is a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years. You don’t need a re-entry permit to leave and return. It’s built in to the visa. Every entry grants you 180 days.

Thanks every one for confirming

It's amazing how people pay 400 dollars or euros for a visa they know nothing about...

@Stuart ********
so when do I pay the 10k for the extension?
Elías ********
@Grant ******
No need to extend. Just visit any country, and reenter. Then, again, 180 days more for free.
Daniel ********
@Grant ******
The cost of extension is 1900 baht. 10,000 baht is the cost of the DTV.
Stuart *********
@Daniel *******
That’s debatable at this point. Some sources- actually immigration related have suggested 10,00 baht but as yet unconfirmed.

can you Alain your crypto post into normal terms?
Stuart *********
@Grant ******
No one knows what’s is required to get an extension.
Daniel ********
@Stuart ********
Agreed, but since it’s not confirmed yet, an extension still costs 1,900. I wouldn’t be surprised if they raised it to 10,000.
Stuart *********
@Grant ******
No one knows what’s needed for an extension as yet. Probably just easier to do a border bounce for a new 180 day entry.
Daowfa ************
You need to make re-entry before you go

@Daowfa ***********
says a visa agent 🫨🫨 ?? DTV is already multiple entry 🙄
Adam *********
@Daowfa ***********
no you don’t

@David *******
just to clarify I get a new 180 day stamp each time? At which point do I then pay the 10k then for extension? Or is the stamp only for my remaining days from my initial 180 days?
David ********
@Grant ******
you never have ti pay again the 10,000 bht. If you leave and come back your stamp is free and 180 days starts again
David ********
Yes correct if you do extension at immagration office it's 1900 bht
David ********
@Grant ******
after you first 180 days you can go to immagration for a 180 day extension 1900 bht. The 10,000 bht is only paid when you applied that's it you have it for 5 years
Jirka ********
@David *******
extension is 10k as well
David ********
@Jirka *******
no 1900 bht that's it if you border bounce nothing
Jirka ********
@David *******
that’s cool. This visa you can get only 1 time per life or after 5 years can buy again?
David ********
@Jirka *******
but again why not

Łukasz *********
@Grant ******
You pay if you want to stay in the country for 181-360 days without leaving.
Scooter *****
No I would think that your 180 days resets
Elías ********
No reentry permit needed for DTVers.
Jim ********
DTV is multi-entry
