Short question. When you renew your marriage visa do you still have to show the 400.000 THB in your account for a certain time or is it ok to have regular monthly salary in THB coming into your account.? I was told the latter, but want to make sure this is the case. I will apply in Jomtien.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing your marriage visa (1-year extension of stay), you are required to meet the proof of funds criteria. You can satisfy this requirement either by having 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account for 2 months prior to application, or by demonstrating a monthly salary of over 40,000 THB if you are legally working in Thailand. Alternatively, if your income is sourced from abroad, you can transfer a minimum of 40,000 THB into your Thai account each month for the past 12 months. It's advisable to confirm specific requirements with the immigration office where you intend to apply.

Have pass book updated every month with foreign deposit for previous year and the month of application. You can call immigration where you will apply to be sure, but it worked for my neighbour.

if you're legally working here with a work permit for a company and your salary is over 40K baht a month you can use that to meet the proof of funds.

OR

if you work abroad and want to use your salary as proof of funds (and your embassy doesn't issue an affidavit of income from abroad notary letter) you transfer in to a thai bank account in your name only a minimum of 40K baht a month each month every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for your yearly extension.

OR

You bank the 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply.

Those are the only 3 ways to meet the proof of funds
