TLDR : Answer Summary
Inquiring about the requirements for renewing a Non-O visa at Jomtien Immigration brought up various responses from the community. It's important to clarify that the process is termed as applying for an extension rather than a renewal. Key requirements mentioned include bank statements confirming a balance of 800,000 THB (if applying based on retirement), a passport copy with all used pages, a passport photo, a TM30 form, and a certificate of residence. The bank letter must be recent, ideally dated the same day as the application. Participants noted the varying requirements for different types of Non-O visas and emphasized the importance of using precise terminology when dealing with immigration to avoid confusion.

I got mine this monday - as you apperently apply 1. time - else you would know 1. first 800.000THB in thai bank 2. a photo 3. Certificate of residence - 4.copy of pasport + visa + E-Visa 5 sign everything with BLUE INK !!! 6. be preparred that they keep your passport at least over night ( so you can fist apply for re-entry when you got it back - if you go to travel !) - good luck ! IMM is not for loosers - remember to be nice :-) Dress well !

Mark Gadsdon the requirements for the application to a next 1-year extension of stay permit based on retirement, are 99.9% IDENTICAL for both extensions out of former Non-O and Non-O/A visas - with ONE EXCEPTION: the Extension out of a former O/A visa requires a mandatory tgia-listed Thai Private Health Insurance. This is clearly separated from each other in this text

Mark Gadsdon the mandatory health insurance is for the Non OA based on retirement and has been in place since late 2019. The Non O based on retirement does not require the mandatory health insurance. The information Bernard posted specifically states health insurance for the Non OA.

Do you mean a credit card with no balance?

Be precise in your question. What type of O visa? Single entry of multiple entry?

No such thing as renewing a visa. You apply for an extension (a brand new application, nothing renewed).

You are going to apply for an extension based on what? Marriage? Retirement?

Peter Weedall that’s actually why there’s so much confusion around this stuff, is people using wrong terminology. That’s why the old “can’t get a bank account without a visa but can’t get a visa without a bank account” nonsense is still alive.

because terminology is very important when it comes to government matters. Using the wrong words can very easily get you the wrong answer, or asking immigration the wrong thing can find you in overstay or worse.
