I have a non o visa based on retirement.

What documents do I need to apply for for a one year extension of stay?

Do I need both an up to date bank book AND a letter from the bank?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a one-year extension of stay on a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, you will generally need an up-to-date bank book and possibly a letter from the bank. However, documentation requirements may vary by immigration office, so it's recommended to check with your local office for the latest requirements. It's also advisable to have a balance of 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account for at least three months prior to the extension. Some users suggested using an agent to assist with the paperwork.

If you have the 800.000 in a thai bank, yes up to date book.

You will need original monthly bank statement to show this money remained in the account for rhe qualifying period, they do change the requirent, i think its 3 months prior to renewal and the same after it starts.

Basically put it in a deposit account and forget it.

If you havent the funds or withdraw them during the period go see a agent.

Get an agency. Or travel to the Immigration office 10 times to sort it out.

Jim Davis I don't know what you're talking about, but I only went to immigration once to get the documents I needed for my one-year extension, and then I went back to immigration once, on the 61st day of my non-O retirement visa, and just an hour later I had my one-year extension.

Gary Colclough yes, CM airport office had NGOs behind a desk. That changed in the last year to interns. They help you prep papers for free.

Go to your local immigration office and ask for the forms and the current list of required documents. It seems to change on a whim ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
