I am coming up on 6 months, I’m in Koh Tao! If I want to extend and not leave the county and come back in do I have to show proof of 500,000THB again? And more Mauy Thai classes (soft power visa on the island)
Please let me know
As I don’t currently have the 500k anymore (sorry trolls - I did have it and now I don’t)
Please only comment helpful things😄
Has anyone been in the same situation in Koh Tao and gone to immigration to do this? Pls lmk!
I can do a border run just don’t want to really if it can be avoided
Thanks x

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in Koh Tao is approaching the end of their 6-month stay and wants to know if they need to show proof of 500,000 THB again to extend their visa without leaving Thailand. The responses indicate that in-country extensions typically require presenting the same documentation as the original application, including financial proof, making extensions complicated without the necessary funds. Many commenters suggest that a border run may be a simpler option.
Same same but Different probably even harder / trickier to Extend than apply...
As we all know how helpful most immigration centres are literally giving everyone on different visa types the run round and making it a drawn out process...
Especially the DTV....
I've got Same day return flights to K.L for 2,450b all done & dusted 8hrs Door to door as only 20 mins from my Airport...
Just gotta hope 1st flight leaves on time as that a little tight...
I think you will find it difficult if you can not show the 500k in the bank. There was a post on here recently about a successful application done at the immigration office in Bangkok. I’m not sure what Office you planned to go to? My understanding is you must show all new documentation the same as initially application.
