A question regarding the 5 year DTV Visa.

You can get one if you sign up for Thai cooking courses. How long has the course got to last?

Once you have finished the course is the DTV still valid or do you have to get another visa to stay in the Kingdom?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 5-year DTV Visa is available to individuals who complete a Thai cooking course, but the specific duration of the course depends on the embassy requirements. After completing the course, the DTV Visa remains valid if the holder leaves the country and returns every six months. To extend the visa while in Thailand, the course must still be active, and financial proof may be necessary. Different embassies may have varying criteria for course length, with some accepting short courses while others may only accept longer programs.

DTV is mostly about showing the 500k. I have one and will be exiting and re entering again in Feb. It will be interesting to see how the visa pans out over 5 years. I just renewed my car driving license with the dtv and got another 5 years.

We can assist you with this and help secure an affordable course.

Currently, this is only applicable for first-time applications. However, if you wish to extend your stay within the country, the course must remain active (and yes, we can help with DTV extensions). The initial time requirement will vary depending on the embassy you apply to. Some may accept a short, one-week course, while others might mandate a longer-term arrangement.

Due to this requirement, some may consider border bounces, where an active course might not always be checked.

Before opting for this approach, we strongly recommend consulting with our team, as we may be able to provide further assistance.

It is a 5 year visa. You only have to prove the qualifications the first time.

As long as you leave and return every 6 mos. no problems.

If you try and extend in country you will likely have to prove finances etc. again.

Every embassy sets their own requirements. The course has to be as long as the embassy you apply at requires it to be.
