If you want to stay longer than a tourism extension of 30 days + a family visit extension of 60 days, you need to apply for a visa. This is general information on visas that are available inside Thailand. But you need to check with your local immigration office for detail. They are each office specific.

you have several options for staying in Thailand 6 to 12 months.

Business ownership will not be of any benefit to you re Thai visa.

Will you be returning to Thailand often and stay longer?

Man you are awesome. I'm a US Citizen with a monthly retirement pension. For now, I'm want to apply for a 6 to 12 month visa. This will satisfy my requirements until I decide to fully retire. Also, my wife and I are registered business owners here in Thailand.

As you entered Thailand with a TR60... Tourist Visa... You are stamped in for 60 days.

You can obtain a 30 day extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. The 30 days are ADDED to your current ending date of your arrival date.

To extend FURTHER as Married to Thai...

ASK your Thai immigration office for their list of requirements for the Non O Visa as Married to Thai and the One year extension of stay as Married to Thai.

You are Also eligible for the One time per Entry... 60 days family visit extension of stay. ASK your Thai immigration office for their list of requirements for this family visit extension.
