What are the requirements for applying for the Destination Thailand Visa from Vietnam, specifically regarding bank statement seasoning and documents for freelancers?

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm planning to apply for the DTV (Destination Thailand Visa) from Vietnam and have a couple of questions for anyone who's done it there recently.

I know they ask for 6 months of bank statements and 500,000 THB in savings, but:

1. Does the money need to be "seasoned"? By this I mean — does the 500k THB have to have been sitting in your account for a certain period of time (e.g. 3 months), or can it be a recent deposit as long as you can show the balance?

2. What documents did you upload to prove remote work? I'm a freelancer/run my own company so curious what actually worked for people — employment contract, invoices, company registration, portfolio, etc.?

Would really appreciate any recent experiences! 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
This post discusses the application process for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) from Vietnam, focusing on two main questions: whether the required 500,000 THB must be seasoned in the bank account for a specific duration and what documentation freelancers should provide to prove remote work. Comments indicate that, in Vietnam, there is no seasoning requirement for the bank funds, and a mix of documents such as employment contracts, company registrations, and portfolio evidence are acceptable for freelancers.

They all require the 500k baht in the bank for 3 months now. Go to thaivisa.go.th. This is the site where u apply for the visa.

No seasoning requirement in Vietnam. All the docs mentioned work for freelance approval. I submitted them all except invoices as I don't invoice. Owning your business you can add invoices

Anonymous participant I’m done listening to ppl. I will go to Hanoi and see what happens. I have a lot more funds than $15k —so I can wait it out.

That said, I hate armchair theory. I will make an actual— step-by-step account when I arrive in Hanoi.

Happy Holidays

Anonymous participant It depends where you apply. Be careful about choosing a visa agent, easy to DIY

— thank you. That’ll be an issue for me then. It’ll only be one month from my LLC bank account for my business and I do have 6 months of bank statements from my personal account—from the job I quit to start my business. Ugh. I don’t get the 6-month thing—I have the required monies. Thanks. 🙏

You apply with your personal account not business account The 500k must be in a personal account, show 6mths of your personal account.

— This is not encouraging. Ugh. I have a business account with my name as well as my business. I will follow up with Paul Lee, the owner of the Thailand Group on Skool, who applied and had a business account — no issues. Thank you. 🙏

— so there is no “seasoned” requirement as I only have the 500,000THB showing for 30 days when I arrive in Hanoi. Do they actually require 6 months of bank statements? I’m a freelancer and my LLC is new. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. 🙏

3-6 months of statements with an end balance of 500k. You can find posts of approval that confirm this. I know recent freelancers approved in Vietnam and there are similar posts in the threads.

Approvals are given for recent deposits.
