【Question about DTV ( Destination Thailand Visa )】

Hello, I'd like to ask for some advice

① Do I need to have the 500k thb in a Thai bank account?

Is it okay an account in another country?

② What is the minimum income required to be eligible for the DTV?

I just started working as a freelancer this week and my monthly income is only $100.

Until last month, I was earning $2,000 a month as an office worker and I have $40,000 in my bank

Could you please share your experience?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query revolves around the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and seeks clarification on two main points: whether the required 500,000 THB must be held in a Thai bank account and what the minimum income threshold is. Responses indicate that having the funds in a non-Thai account is acceptable, and there is generally no minimum income requirement for the DTV. Applicants may benefit from showing additional savings to demonstrate financial independence.

In my case 12 months ago I needed to show proof of a contract to allow me to work remotely and also the income from that contract. This was in Australia

Yes you can have the funds in a non Thai account. There is no minimum income requirement. I was approved on a low income as there was a delay with my main online contract being renewed. I did submit additional savings to show financial independence. Showing additional savings will help.

Equivalent to 500,000 THB in a forigner bank makes you eligible so... 40,000 $ is yes ( show statement of your bank ) required up to the month you apply at and this is the financial requirements.

They did not ask how much income you make monthly.

It doesn’t need to be in a Thai bank.

And you will not be eligible to get a Thai bankaccount with DTV, so if you think you need a Thai bankaccount, you have to apply for a real long term visa.

Only some Embassies require income information, and is depending on the rest of the documentation you provide.

As all DTV it depends which Embassy you apply at.
