What additional documents are needed for a DTV visa application in Thailand as a freelancer from Belgium?

Has anyone done the DTV visa from Belgium as a freelancer? What additional documents could they ask for. I have gotten all the basic ones required. I have over 500,000 THB but some of it was in stocks so I’ve put them on my savings now. Should that make a problem with the 3 months thing? Also I’m a recent freelancer so don’t have any tax proof yet.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the challenges faced by a freelancer from Belgium applying for a DTV visa in Thailand, particularly regarding documentation and financial requirements. Questions arise about the necessity of maintaining a minimum balance of 500,000 THB in a savings account for at least three months, especially when part of the funds was in stocks. Furthermore, concerns about lacking tax documents due to being a recent freelancer are raised. The community offers advice, sharing personal experiences related to similar applications, emphasizing the importance of a solid portfolio, proof of income, and a history of visa compliance.

I got mine without any issues but :

- I had the equivalent of more then 500,000 THB on a savings account for +6 months.

- my activities are done through my company which had tax receipts for several years.

- I had made a portfolio explaining what I do and why I can do it remotely. Also mentioned that I travel between Belgium and Thailand and want to continue like this. No interest in moving to Thailand permanently.

- I have a history of visits to Thailand, 2 to 3 times a year, each time between 1 and 3 months. Never overstayed, no “abuse” of visa exemptions, usually applied for an (ME)TV.

- I also have a property in Phuket, but that shouldn’t make a difference.

Pretty much the same for me other than the tax receipts (and the property 😅). Did they ask you to add those as additional documents?

No, I added these documents to the portfolio and combined it to 1 pdf; introduction page about who I am, what I do and why I think the DTV would be perfect for me. Next bank statements of a savings account on my personal name, the tax receipt of my company as proof of my income (high enough to afford living in Thailand) and proof I'm the only shareholder, title deed of my condo, certificate of residence in Belgium, copy of passport and -I think- also a certificate of good behaviour (no criminal records).

It will be 5 weeks waiting. Wait minimum 3 month bank statement.

And for your new activity, prove that you will get enough income from it or show them much more stock/money than the minimum to show them you dont realy need income.

If u don't mind gambling 350 euro then go ahead. In my opinion is more likely your application to be rejected than being approved. 1) money has sit in the bank for too short. 2) you just started your career as freelancer, no proof, no taxes, no nothing. That's a big red flag

Hmm okay thank you, so they would ask for additional documents like the tax refunds

Anonymous participant well, they want to make sure you got a business that can support you abroad for the next 5 years. I've read of several folks on this page who got their application denied cuz they've started just few months prior the application date. Some of them even got replied from the embassy to try again a few months later once the business was set for awhile. You're free to give it a try but IN MY OPINION the accept/deny chances would've around

. As I said above, if u don't mind taking a gamble on 350euro then u go ahead, some got the DTV with a single appointment from a generic doctor....

i thin k the intsructions are clear, you need the funds a saving account for 3 months and that will be changed soon to 6 months ; that in comboination with the tax issue will not make it easy

Instructions are clear, nowhere it says that I should add my tax refunds on it. Also the money has been mine for over 6 months. Just been in stocks. That’s why I’m asking if that’s a possibility they ask in any additional docs
