Hi all,

I will be applying for freelancer DTV from Hanoi, and I have some questions for those who are experienced.

I have an LLC business for video production in the USA. I am planning to submit articles of company registration, tax number for the company, and show my work:

1. Can I use my business account for the proof of funds if my name is also on the bank statements, along with my business name?

2. For the proof of work – I will submit company’s website which has a video reel of previous work. Should I also create a separate portfolio with a collection of videos that show more work? Any input about this is welcome

I do management of my contractors, writing, directing and editing, depending on the project, so it’s difficult to explain everything. Whatever is most effective for the visa purposes, and the simplest way to go.

Thank you all!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around visa application requirements for a freelancer DTV in Thailand, specifically regarding proof of funds and work documentation. Users strongly advise against using a business bank account for proof of funds; a personal account with at least 500,000 baht held for 3-6 months is necessary. For proof of work, creating a detailed portfolio in addition to the company's website is recommended to effectively present qualifications.

NO BUSINESS ACCOUNTS

It is you as a person, who apply for the visa, with you own personal money in your own personal account, and for the acquired time ( up to 6 months ) for the chosen Embassy.

Apply in the country where you have been conducting your business, and the Embassy may have a little understanding of you strange way having a business.

Read a lot of earlier posts from people who have applied earlier, to get the needed understanding of what you are preparing to do.

Make sure your address is on your personal bank account, otherwise they will request further documents.

No business accounts are allowed. And yes I would spend time creating a portfolio doc. Mine was 27 pages lol. Don't expect them to visit your website, add screenshots, explanation, etc. You have to convince them basically ;-) good luck.

I see. So they will not bother visiting websites. Which probably means I should stay away from sending Google Drive links to my work? If my work is video, then what would I screenshot? Thanks for your response

First off, no, your company bank account, even though your name is on it, will not be accepted. You must have a personal bank account with the bt500,000 minimum in it for at least 3-6 previous months before you apply in Vietnam. Business bank accounts are not accepted, even if you are the sole member of the business.

if the business account is not accepted, then how do I show the income and expenses of the business? I don't use personal account for that, which is normal

the business account is not accepted to prove the bt500,000 financial requirement, but you can use it to show business activity.

I see. Thank you. That is so strange, but I'm glad I know that now

It is strange that you don’t have the company finances, and your own finances stritly seperated.

It is not strange at all. It's a sole propertorship LLC, very common way of doing things in the USA
