Hello, I am applying for an LTR Work-From-Thailand Professionals visa and would appreciate any advice. My main questions:

1. US passport holder, wife Chinese passport holder. Our marriage certificate is from the USA. Do we need to get this translated/certified in any way like via the US State Department, or Thai embassy?

2. Is an employment verification letter with name, position, salary, years of employment from employer enough? Any docs needed to prove company meets requirements? I see someone here mentioned “foundational docs”.

3. Is company health insurance from a major carrier enough, or do I need to get insurance in Thailand?

Thanks everyone.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for applying for an LTR Work-From-Thailand Professionals visa includes several important documentation requirements. Firstly, regarding marriage certificates, one commenter noted that their US marriage certificate was accepted without translation for the LTR application. Secondly, an employment verification letter detailing the applicant's name, position, salary, and years of employment is typically sufficient, but it's crucial to ensure that the company meets specific requirements, which may include foundational documents. Lastly, while company health insurance from a major insurer was accepted in some cases, it's advised to verify with Thai officials if specific insurance from Thailand is needed.

1. I used our marriage certificate from US as is, not translated, for LTR. Accepted.

Thanks, Eri.

I did this successfully you need to be extremely meticulous about the documents especially tax returns. I used my own health insurance from the Netherlands not Thai and that was accepted

You need to meet the requirements as stated in the checklist for the visa submission. If it's not on the checklist, you don't need it. You should send any questions to the BOI since they are the ones who make the decision on what will be acceptable and what won't be acceptable, and they sometimes make these decisions on a case by case basis.
