A question regarding Family Visa.

My husband will be hired by a Thai company and will have a work permit. I have read that I am eligible to get a visa to stay with him in Thailand as we are married. My question is: Do the marriage papers need to be certified in order to be accepted in Thailand? The marriage was done in the European Union. I have a legal translation.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires if their marriage papers, obtained in the European Union, need to be certified to secure a Family Visa to join their husband in Thailand, who will be working there. A comment provides insight that the marriage certificate may require certification by the embassy of the country where the marriage occurred, a legal translation, and a stamp from Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The importance of consulting the husband's employer or local immigration office for guidance on obtaining the Non-O 90-day visa and subsequent extension is also highlighted.

The European Union is not a country ๐Ÿ˜• The marriage was done in a specific country and it might need to be certified by the embassy of that country, then translated into thai, then stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office here in thailand.

Talk to your husbands employer to see if they are familiar with the process for you to get a Non-O 90 day visa issued based on marriage to a foreigner who legally works here.

If they are not, you and your husband need to go to your immigration office and talk to them about the steps in the process of first getting the 90 day Non-O visa under the "trailing spouse" clause and then the year extension that matches your husbands Non-B extension.
