I need a bit of help in regards to my LTR visa application currently in progress, I've been asked to provide health insurance:

"Please provide international health insurance (travel insurance is unacceptable) policy covering entire course of stay in Thailand, with coverage for hospitalization treatment of no less than 50,000 USD and the remaining period of no less than 10 months."

1. What is meant by "entire course of stay"?

The LTR visa is for 10 years, is the implication one needs to prepay 10 years of health insurance?

2. Can anyone recommend a cost-effective travel insurance for this? I'm in Australia.

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on health insurance requirements for their Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa application for Thailand, specifically regarding the interpretation of 'entire course of stay' and whether they need to prepay for 10 years of coverage. They also request recommendations for cost-effective international health insurance from Australia. Comments indicate that the requirement is for 10 months of coverage, and several users suggest various insurance options, including Allianz and AXA plans, as well as the possibility of using bank statements to prove financial capability without needing extensive medical coverage.

My husband just bought a policy with AXA, the policy plan is called EasyCare Visa Plan 1. You can choose high/low deductible. Was very affordable with high deductible. Not the best policy, but meets the LTR requirement. Took less than two weeks to process. The AXA representative’s name is Niranut Wisetwongsa (NID), +66 77 205 300-2 ext 115,

I did the same as Nigel, just show them proof of $100k and get insurance as you see fit. Failing that, Allianz is a good route to go for plans. You will need to prove one year at 50k i believe.

They accepted evidence of funds to cover any medical problems, so didn't need medical cover for the LTR visa. However, I have a 12 month policy.

Anyone know whether the Allianz Care "Care Core Plan" will suffice, or have any other international healthcare recommendations?

A year is fine. It specifically says no less than 10 months. I sent 1 year for my application and it was accepted.
