Hello! I have two questions regarding the DTV visa. I have an American passport and I am currently on a METV that would end on November 15. But my next visa hop needs to be by October 13th. I want to go and apply for the DTV in a neighboring country when I do my october hop. Do I need to cancel my current METV in order to apply for the DTV? And if so how?

Also, Im on the METV because I was taking a career break for the past 6 months, I do have my own LLC and some money is coming in automatically from that but not alot(maybe around 600-1000 USD per month). I do have over 500k baht in my American bank accounts, but it is 3 accounts combined, is that okay? And would I be rejected if my overall amount in my account has been going down because I've been on a bit of a work break?

you can't cancel a VISA, you just apply for a new one for a different category. you'll be fine

There are reports from some consulates that they needed to have the funds in ONE account and people were denied for trying to use combined balance of multiple accounts.

BUT

There are reports from other consulates that multiple accounts were okay as long as the 500K baht was in the account for the required period (some are 500k baht the day you apply, some are 500K baht for 3 months, some are 6 months)

Search for DTV posts using the search tab and put in 'multiple bank accounts' to see what you get

if you're asking does having a DTV cut any ice to open a bank account no it does not.

You need to post on a group related to where you will be in thailand asking about opening an account in that area
