TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirements for a one-year Non-O visa extension include using your local immigration office corresponding to your registered address. If you are seeking an extension based on raising a half-Thai child, you should clarify if you are married to the child’s mother or have custody. Additionally, having 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account is necessary, but there are no seasoning requirements for this type of extension.

Let's try and figure out what you want, and what you can get.

You said you want an extension of stay based on raising half-Thai child, correct? Are/ were you married to the mother of the child, OR granted court custody?

Do you have 400K THB in a Thai bank account (there is NO seasoning requirements for a one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children).?

Are you living with the child?

To get a one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children, you will need the following:

1. Your passport and a copy of:

- Your data ("picture") page

- Your Non-O visa

- Your entry stamp

- Your departure card

2. Your child PHYSICALLY next to you, and

- Her ID card and a copy of her ID card (OR passport, OR houseboat)

- Her housebook, and a copy of the first page

3. To meet the money requirements, which are:

- 400K THB in a Thai bank account, *NO SEASONING REQUIREMENTS) OR;

- 40K THB in income OR;

- a letter from your embassy saying you make 40K THB a month

4. Proof of custody rights (either the rose border certificate, OR a translated copy from your home country OR court documents showing parental rights)

5. The application form

6. 2x passport pictures

7. 1,900 THB for the processing fee.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, and may include:

- A copy of the TM30 filed where you live

- A hand drawn map to your house

- Witnesses or interviews with neighbors

- Rental contract (if renting property or a condo)

about 2 of your list, what you mean with "her" is child's mother or child her/himself?

@Ellie ******
Her, meaning the child.

the immigration officer asked my wife yesterday.. why did u bring ur child
Ellie *******
@Dale *********
you have to bring the "reason" of your extension. For example, your spouse for your extension based on marriage, your child for your extension based on raising a child.

So who you need to bring depends what reason you are applying for extension.

@Ellie ******
that was why we brought our child

As
@Lloyd *******
stated...you must use your local immigration office where you registered your residence address.

What type of Non O extension are you seeking ?

Is this first time ??

4 - a 1-year extension based on being married to a Thai. Need proof of income minimum 40,000 THB per month, or a deposit of 400,000 THB on a Thai bank account in your sole name. The money must have sat in the account for two months prior to the day of appliction. Also need proof of legal marriage (rose bordered Thai marriage certificate) or legalized and translated foreign marriage certificate

we have all of this requirements but yesterday the immigration officer was very awkward.. when they prompt that the bank book has to be updated we would think updated to the most recent transaction.. they want it with the last date updated they day before u submit ur application when u get requirements they should specifically tell u this instead of u wait in a cue for hours.. for them to say your bank book is not up to date 😒😅
Gregor **********
@Dale *********
you need to bring a bank letter of guarantee covering the recent two months plus must update your bank book on the day of application, by making one small withdrawal or transfer
Benjamin ******
@Gregor *********
But the OP wants an one year extension of stay based on raising half-Thai children.

@Benjamin *****
he can use both-he wrote: "Dale Kitching

James Miller i have non o visa now im looking for extension based on child and wife" . . which means he can get it based on either kid OR based on marriage with wife

i want to do the route which is most likely to be accepted i have the 400,000 in my account waiting got all documents needed just one little thing on my bank book that was the issue just worrying because my visa expires in 8 days
Gregor **********
@Dale *********
in case you are running out of time (which I think not as the bank issues a "rab roong thanakan" on the same day) you can still get the "family visit" 60 days of extension

@Gregor *********
the bank i use gives this on the same day .. we already got the letter of guarantee and updated the bank book.. but we wasnt told we had to do it the day before making the application
Ellie *******
@Dale *********
Bank letter can be dated a (few) day earlier. But your passbook has to be updated on the day of application.

okay, you have 3 extension options available to you.

1 - a year extension based on raising a half thai child (if the child was born out of wedlock you need to have been granted legal parental rights thru family court or the local Amphur) you also need 400,000 Thai baht in a thai bank account in your name only.

2 - a 60 day visit thai family extension based on having a half thai child (this doesn't require proof of legal parental rights or any financial requirements)

3 - a 60 day unable to travel due to covid 19 extension.

ALL extensions inside the country are 1900baht no matter the length of time they're issued for.

Go to your immigration office and ask what the requirements are for the extension you're wanting to get
