1. Which Thai embassy in one of the neighborhood countries of Thailand are using E-Visa online application system ?
2. If you book a doctors appointment or plan a surgery for the DTV,
a) must this be in a Governmental Hospital ?
b) I assume, not every doctors appointment will get approved (i.e. Blood Test, MRI or other any other outbound treatments).
The focus will be more on inpatient treatments (i.e. Hip surgery, Cosmetic surgery).
Am I correct ?
3. If somebody just started (or plans to start soon), to become a freelancer, DN etc. and cannot yet show a portfolio,
a) can this person then NOT apply for DTV ?
b) If that person CAN apply, what alternative documents can this person bring instead ?
Thanks a lot ๐๐ป

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about several aspects of the Thailand DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), including which Thai embassies in neighboring countries use the e-visa system, requirements for medical appointments (government vs. private hospitals), and the eligibility of freelancers without a portfolio. Responses clarified that current neighboring embassies do not use an e-visa system yet, with some transitioning in the future. For medical treatments, the specifics can vary by embassy, and inquiries should be directed to each embassy for precise documentation required. Additionally, freelancers without a portfolio may still be able to apply, although they will need to check with the embassy for acceptable alternative documentation.
I can answer only your first Question. Thai Embassies in countries neighbouring Thai are not using evisa system. Malaysia is starting to adopt evisa in October, according to their website. Currently, only Vientiane, Jakarta and Phnom Penh are open to DTV application, according to their website. Please email the other Embassies to enquire.
