TLDR : Answer Summary
If you hold a retirement visa in Thailand, such as the Non-Immigrant O-A or O-X, you are not required to leave the country every 90 days. However, you must report your presence to immigration if you remain in Thailand for 90 days. The Non-Immigrant O visa does require border runs to refresh the 90-day stay. The Extension of Stay based on retirement allows you to stay for one year without needing to exit Thailand, though you need a re-entry permit if you travel.

The Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years is valid for 1 year and has no entries at all, you need to report at Immigration when you are physically 90 days inside the country. If you like to travel you need to buy a Re-Entry Permit and on return you will get the same permitted up to date stamped inside your passport

I was visiting Vietnam for 1 trip and paying 1,000 baht but immigration offered a multi entry for 3,800. I didn’t have enough on me. Friend said if I’d done that I would have had to leave every 90 days as apposed to only when I wanted to holiday. Seemed stupid to me as would cost a fortune to keep leaving

Robert Lagas yes but immigration offered me multi for 3,800 instead of a single entry, which is what I was requesting. I declined due to funds on the day but a friend later said” good job you didn’t do multi entry as you would have had to leave Thailand every 90 days instead of just requesting the obligatory extension over the local counter

The 1 year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age is only available in a few countries, but with this visa you get stamped in for 90 days and then you do a border run to activate a new 90 day period

The Single Entry Non Immigrant O Visa based on being over 50 years only gives you one entry of 90 days

With the O-A visa a person get stamped in Thailand for 1 year, with the O-X visa a person get stamped in for 5 years, both of these are multiple entry but both of these do NOT require a person to leave every 90 days. But if you stay inside Thailand you need to report at Immigration that you physically are 90 days in Thailand.

Even the Non Imm O-A and O-X... While Multi-Entry Visas they are handled by just in-country visits to the local Thai Immigration office in Thailand.

now is becomes difficult, there are 4 visa's named retirement visa and even the Extension of Stay, which is not a visa is called the same. Can you please make a picture of this visa and post it after your blanked out the personal details, so we can give you the correct information without guessing which visa it is or just give you wrong information by assuming what is inside your passport.
