Question....if you are over 50 and apply for the retirement Visa....how many days a year are you obliged to stay in the country. Can you actually leave for say 3 /4 months at a time and still have the visa? Thanks In Advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
There are no minimum stay requirements for the retirement visa in Thailand for individuals over 50. Holders of this visa can leave the country for extended periods, including 3 to 4 months, as long as they return to renew their visa when necessary. It is important to obtain a re-entry permit if planning to leave to avoid visa issues.

you can't get a multiple entry retirement visa in Thailand and most embassies don't sell it.
You're talking about re-entry permit not multiple entry visa.

None, you just need to be there when you're Extension is due for renewal or it's over and you start again. You also need a re-entry permit if you leave otherwise the same result.
thanks graham. As i understand the renweal is once a year. Do you have to be there on the exact day or can you renew one or two months before...for example. Thanks
