Please can I get advice. My daughters entered Thailand at Phuket International on 8th December 2019, on a 30 day visa exempt stamp for SA citizens . Their immigration stamp in passport says they must leave by 06th January.

Their return ticket is booked for 12:30 on 9th January 2020.

Advice please.... Can they get an visa exempt extension for 7 days? Where should they go to get it? Immigration department in Phuket or can they do it at Phuket International?

If they don't get extension and are fined what is the fine and does it happen at airport on day of exit?? What are the implications for their next visit??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice regarding their daughters, who entered Thailand on a 30-day visa-exempt stamp, about obtaining an extension before their departure. They are specifically asking whether a 7-day extension is possible, where to apply for it, and the consequences of overstaying if no extension is obtained.

send them to the immigration office where they're staying when it re-opens after the new year holiday (it opens again on Thursday Jan 2) and have apply for a 30 day extension. It's 1900baht and more costly than the overstay fine BUT it is not breaking the law by overstaying.

there is a 7 day extension, but thats after the 30 extension 30 +30+7 then leave the country either to a neighbouring country by land get 30 day on return max 2 time pr year, trough airport more but up to imm officer

believe me while that stamp gives you 7 days to get out of thialand it is most definitely NOT an extension, It's titled: "application for extension not approved"

, that 7 days is not an extension (it's extension application denied and period to leave Thailand) and not always you can get.

There is no 7days extension. For tourist status you can apply only 30 days extension for 1900THB (actually all extension is same price regardless how long you apply, then accepted or denied.).

If they don't get extension and make it to the airport successfully, they will be fine at the airport 500 THB per day, and, stamp and record say overstayed. If they are seeing to visit Thailand again, maybe better to avoid overstay record any way.
