Hi everyone
I am in a bit of a pickle
My daughter has been on an ED visa for the last 2 years but there was a miscalculation and her visa expires on the 11 March and the school has not applied for the documents from the ministry of education yet which will take 3-4 weeks.
I really do not want her to have to leave the country at the moment to apply for a new one. She has 2 broken arms and she is not very strong.
Would she be able to renew her ED visa on an overstay? Or can I convert the ED visa to a Non-O visa in country?
Any advise would be appreciated.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on whether their daughter can renew her ED visa while overstaying or convert it to a Non-O visa within Thailand, considering she is injured. Responses suggest that a medical extension based on her condition is possible, but she cannot extend while on overstay. The recommendation is to get a doctor's letter to request a medical extension from immigration, which may allow time for school documentation to be processed.
