TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is looking for information on insurance requirements for a Non-Immigrant Type O visa for 90 days, specifically needing coverage of at least 400,000 THB for in-house treatment and 40,000 THB for out-patient treatment. Respondents suggest that while some consulates require this insurance, it is not universally mandatory. They recommend potentially entering Thailand on a visa-exempt basis and converting to a Non-O visa in-country. Several insurance agents and companies, including Arawan Namak and AXA, are suggested as options for obtaining suitable insurance.

baht last November when I got my Non O from London but that was for an Annual Multi-trip policy. I used a Thai broker/agent though the policy was with a European company. You could try messaging Arawan Namak.
I’m sure you’ll find her on Facebook. She usually replies quickly.
Some embassies or consulates will require insurance for a Non O visa although none is actually required. If it’s an issue for you and you qualify for visa exempt entry (as Australians do) then do yourself a favour an enter visa exempt and do an in country conversion to a Non O. You may need the help of an agent to set up your bank account as it’s not easy to do on an exempt entry (but possible) but it saves the hassle of having to have insurance if you don’t need or want it.
if you are planning on getting an extension to that visa then you need 800k baht in a Thai bank 2 calendar months before you apply for the extension anyway
Ok. Then you would have to follow the requirements for the embassy or consulate you’re using. If they require proof insurance then you’d need to provide it.
