Can I extend my STV visa more than once before the deadline, and are COVID extensions available for the STV?

Hello, I have a question about stv. Mine expires on the 21/08.i know I have a deadline of the 30 September to apply to extend. Could I extend a first time, then extend again just before the 30th of September?

Is it correct that covid extensions aren't possible for an stv?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about extending their STV (Special Tourist Visa) before its expiration on 21/08, specifically whether they could extend it once and then again before the September 30 deadline. They also questioned the possibility of COVID-related extensions for the STV. Comments suggested that while extensions might be possible, regulations vary by local immigration offices, and it's essential to check the specific arrival stamp date in the passport rather than relying solely on the visa's validity date. Moreover, it was noted that extensions may not apply if the user arrived after July 3, 2021.

I'm going to shut this down.

1. The STV is *THE WORST* possible visa anyone could have acquired.

2. Different immigration offices have different documents required to get a 90 day extension of stay based on STV. ASK your local immigration office for details.

3. If you arrived AFTER July 3, 2021, you can not get an extension of stay on this visa.

I see no purpose in keeping this post open. If anyone disagrees, send a mod a message.

I just got my STV extension yesterday. It expires on 10th November.

I was told to go back before 30th September to get my final extension, they told me that the date of the second extension would be carried over and I would get a further 90 days from 10th November.

Hope that makes sense. Worst visa ever!!

fingers crossed. We had a nightmare yesterday. We were told our insurance wasn't good enough and had to buy a Thai company insurance (although our insurer covered is up to 250k USD covid. Anyway. We got it and it was smooth sailing from there. Just double check that you have all your ducks in a row before going. Yip, I wish we had too, hindsight is always

LOOK in your passport and SEE what the arrival/ admitted to stamp is. DO NOT look at the valid to date on the visa. The "valid to" date on the visa DOES NOT give you the right to stay in Thailand.

The stamp you want to look at should look something like the top red stamp in the attached picture. What is the date on that stamp?

I'm SORRY I didn't use exact language! The stamp says 21.08.

Whew, good. You can get ONE 90 day extension of stay based on STV. ASK your local immigration office what their requirements are. If you are using Bangkok immigration, you would submit the same documents are you did when you applied for the STV. I'm attaching an e-mail from Bangkok Immigration about what they require.

>then extend again just before the 30th of September?

Probably not. Most immigration offices require no less then 45 days remaining on the existing "admitted to/ Extension of stay granted until..." stamp before you can apply for another extension of stay. Some require no less then 30 days. Bangkok requires 3 days.

>s it correct that covid extensions aren't possible for an stv?

I *HEARD* reports of the immigration offices allowing people to get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 on the STV. You will need either a letter from the embassy saying the borders are closed, OR a cancelled airline ticket (FROM THE AIRLINE COMPANY) with a re-scheduled flight, OR other supporting documents why you can not depart from Thailand. The requirements for this extension are extremely high to meet.
