What is the current duration of the visa exemption for UK passport holders traveling to Thailand?

I’m from the UK and I’ve seen a few posts on here about people getting the new temporary 45 day exemption visa. However, the London Thai Embassy website still says 30 days for this visa. I’ve seen all the TAT announcements stating it’s now 45 days but I was looking for something official. Wanting to book my ticket and not sure whether to book a 30 or 45 day return. Any advice would be much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
As of October 2022, UK passport holders entering Thailand under the visa exemption rule can stay for 45 days. This temporary extension is expected to last until March 31, 2023, after which the duration is anticipated to revert to 30 days. Many official embassy websites may not be updated promptly, thus it is advisable to refer to credible travel or immigration resources for the most current information.

You don't say when you are traveling, but it is 45 days until March 31st 2023. Then it is SUPPOSED to revert back to 30 days.

Visa exemption is not a 'visa' hence the name, visa exempt. You will get 45 days visa exemption upon arrival.

It’s official….45 day visa exempt and you can extend for 30 days at any immigration office for 1900 THB. This is a “high season” change and is scheduled to go back to 30 days next spring. Here’s an article and enjoy the Kingdom.

The change is only temporary so don't expect websites to be updated. Some embassies don't update their sites for years after a permanent change is made, so they'll hardly update for something temporary.

Yes. A visa exempt entry now gives you 45 days entry (up until March ‘23). Many embassy websites are slow to update. Many just state wrong information. Although that’s where you’d like to think you’ll get the right info it quite often isn’t the place to get it.
