I thank you for this great chat group. I'm a retiree from USA married to a Thai, i have the yearly non-imm "multiple" I believe I got "O" although it does not show anywhere. Attached is my stamped visa page valid till this 29 April 2020, and my TM6 arrival stub was 06Feb2020 (90 days would be 06May2020). I have completed the forms TM7, TM8, & TM47, also, getting my bank statement. I plan to go to chengwattana on 22nd (1 week before the yearly expires and timely 15 days prior to 90 day reporting). I truly appreciate of anyone who can assist clarify and advice ( my apologies, I easily get confused with all these requirements and procedures) that's why I prepare methodically how I comprehend.

a) are all of the above still the requirements, can be done simultaneously in one day?

b) are we NOW required to have "health Insurance", with this visa?

c) I never had to do any residential/ drawing of street etc. I live in a residence, am I required?

Again, let me know if I need more. I just really dread to go doing this plus the virus situation considering my senior status. Much appreciate and stay safe to all. Sincerely

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is a retiree from the USA seeking clarification on renewing their Non-O visa in Thailand. They have submitted various forms and plan to visit the immigration office. Key questions include whether requirements can be handled simultaneously, if health insurance is necessary, and if a residential map is required. Responses indicate that the user likely has an extension of stay based on retirement rather than a multiple-entry Non-O visa. They can complete the extension and 90-day reporting on the same day and do not require health insurance for this visa type.

He doesn’t seem to be sure whether his original visa is a non-O or not. Knowing that seems to be important.

Ben Sevilla You have an extension of stay, not a visa. Do you have your original visa in your passport? If it is a new passport then try looking at the first page. Most visa advice is going to depend on this information.

and while that might be a consideration until he actually posts the pictures of the other stamps IN his passport or looks on his own, there's no way to tell.

You shouldn't have ANY problem getting a new yearly extension, THEN buying a new re-entry permit and doing a 90 day report at all at Chaengwattana at this time.

It's almost a ghost town. I had a friend get his retirement extension, his re-entry permit and his 90 day report in just a little over an hour out there last week.

Remember you need your bank book updated the date you apply and you need the bank letter can't be any older than 7 days before you apply.

The hand drawn map is just that, a simple map that shows your area where you live.

I'd say STOP dreading it, calm down and you'll be fine.

... hey Tod... just a side question... no problem doing the TM-7 and the TM-47, but do you queue to another room for the TM-8 multi-entry or do you submit that with the TM-7?

It looks like Ben's on his way to success for now, so I'm closing comments for the night.

I'm going to take a bit of a wild guess here as it's all a bit confusing. The extension to stay was obtained on 10 may 2019 and given until 29 may 2020 so I'm assuming an earlier extension which got renewed early. Been out of the country and when returned got stamped in wrongly with stay permitted until 6 Feb 2020. Immigration might be able to sort this but it's a bit late in the day. I'd suggest getting along to immigration asap. Hopefully you've also had the 800k in the bank for a sufficient time

you're off base. The stamp on the TM6 departure card is the last time he ARRIVED in thailand. They usually only stamp the arrival date on the TM6. He was stamped in most likely until the end of his actual extension (which is April 29th) on his passport.

With your current Extension of Stay were you required to have a Thai banked deposit of 400,000 or 800,000 Thai baht ? Or show monthly incomes?

Robert and
@Tod ********
are best to assist with your questions in the morning if using the 400,000 Thai baht married Thai extension..at CW.

Based on your picture, you do NOT have a multiple entry Non-O visa based on marriage, but what appears to be an extension of stay based on retirement, with a multiple re-entry permit.

>a) are all of the above still the requirements, can be done simultaneously in one day?

I believe you can get your extension of stay based on retirement and a 90 day report done at the same time. CW is almost empty and now is the time to do it.

>b) are we NOW required to have "health Insurance", with this visa?

No. To my knowledge, that is only for the "O-A" visas.

>c) I never had to do any residential/ drawing of street etc. I live in a residence, am I required?

To my knowledge, no. That is to get an extension of stay based on being married to a Thai wife.

*EDIT" just checked, they do need a simple map of your neighborhood.

I'm leaving this open so people who are much more familiar with extension of stays based on retirements can chime in. However, I will be watching this post carefully and I'm not going to let hijackers take over this post.
