Hi everyone!

I am looking for advice. My Non O visa finished on April 15th, I got a 60 day extension based on Thai family hoping the borders might have been open by now but they are not.

What are my options? Continue my stay on the amnesty until July 31st? or are there any other extensions I can apply for without having to show proof of finances. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their stay in Thailand after their Non O visa expired and they received a 60-day extension, which will end before the borders reopen. Comments suggest utilizing the amnesty until July 31 and mention exploring a one-year extension based on marriage to a Thai national.

If you can not get a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai wife due to income reasons, my advice would be to go on amnesty. On amnesty, you can stay NO LATER THEN July 31. Once the borders reopen, bounce out and back in for another 90 day stamp.

I don't know which part of Thailand you're in, but I highly recommend watching one of the Thai/ Myanmar (Burma) borders that sell the day passes, like the Kanchanburi/ Htee Kee border. The borders that sell the day passes must allow you to return to Thailand.

Are nearby countries accepting foreign arrivals? Could always just wait it out in a neighbouring country if so.

That's a great question, and my advice is to wait until the middle of July to answer that question. Different countries are opening at a different rate, but I don't feel comfortable answering that question because I'm not an expert in other countries. The end of July is still about 6 weeks away.

Yes, that is the issue. My kids are here. One being a new-born and waiting on his British passport, so we couldn't even go back together!

Thanks for the advice. Has there been any light on when they think the borders will reopen or not?

There has been no announcement about when the borders will reopen. I'm on the same visa as you are, and I'm also on amnesty. Once a border that can be used to bounce out and back in reopens, there will be an announcement made on the group.

Lets hope one opens before the amnesty finishes. Otherwise, it will be an expensive flight to England and back.

Once you leave Thailand, you won't be able to return until Thailand reopens the border.
