So, if you submit your visa application and it comes back with an incorrect passport issuing date, even if they have a photo document of your visa, you still lose out on $200 and they don't approve you.

Users emphasize the importance of checking every detail in the application to avoid rejection, highlighting that the system may not correct user errors. Every character and digit has to match your passport data page EXACTLY.

So be careful and don’t let the computer fill it in for you.

Double check.

Triple check…..

Cliff Sussman date format in the passport could be different from the date format in the application so that can't be correct.

Kim Nielsen spend a little time reading posts of those who were rejected.

The computer reads the data page and your entry has to match it.

Cliff Sussman the passport page has the date in U.S. format (month/day/year) . . so how is the computer reading the data if he manually entered the Thai date format correctly (day/month/year) ? Would it result in an error?

My question is why is your application fee so high. As I recall I paid $80 for a Non O. 😃. Ouch $200 hurts.

David Earl I guess he applied for the Non-O/A visa instead for the Non-O . . . . the other mistake as you should not opt for the O/A if you intend to live in Thailand for the rest of your life

I’ve heard that the errors happen when you type in the date instead of using the drop

Down box to

Select the date

Seems the date is often the problem. Same with Visas for Vietnam we always have a snag with them

Yup the whole thing is designed to take the money so you have to do it many times. Website auto disconnects and you can’t see what was uploaded, can’t upload multiple files, zero communication as they simply ignore all emails. Pretty lame experience all around so far.

Clay Gard awgh, come on. We know the "temple is closed" Tuk-Tuk scam, we know the fake watch sale (actually not a scam), we know the fake tourist police scam asking for a 2000 Baht fine for throwing away a cigarette butt. Yet I struggle to find any reports about a "e-visa application scam" 😆

Greg Alexander My dog could make a better website and have better communication. It could easily be improved yet has been the same for years. Don’t be so naive. Anyone who knows how Thailand operates should see through this.

Clay Gard - the original poster is American. You want the software to be intelligent enough to know that

/2026 is Jan 5th for American passports and May 1st for Australian passports? Let’s also be real, these issues don’t impact 50% of applicants, probably less than 5%. Just those impacted are much more likely to be vocal after it happens to them

if you work with the boxes when entering the date, you won't confuse the U.S. date format (month/day/year) with the format that is used by the e-visa system (day/month/year) so you should not enter the full date manually but use the date box

Greg Alexander that's a very good tip for those from a small number of countries who use a different date format to Thailand and most of the world. A tip that would be good to have pinned in the group, because perhaps very few of those affected would read your tip in this post.

Yes, they warn you that this will happen and to ensure your datapoints are correct. The embassy reviewing can’t change anything on your application once you submit.
