DTV oil rig work

I work 4 on 4 off ,

What is my best option to get a 5 year dtv visa,

I am about to go back to work in Denmark for 5 weeks then I'll get 3 weeks off this time.

Should I apply in Denmark whilst I do my 5 weeks or apply back when I'm in the UK for 3 weeks.

Is my best bet a mauy Thai visa ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated
Answer summary
The user, who works on an oil rig with a 4 on/4 off schedule, is seeking advice on the best way to obtain a 5-year DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) while balancing work in Denmark and the UK. Most comments suggest that applying in Thailand might be more beneficial and highlight alternatives like entering Thailand as a tourist for shorter periods instead of needing the DTV. A few commenters shared personal experiences about successfully obtaining the DTV under various circumstances, emphasizing the importance of presenting valid proof of remote work or funds.

I work
*****
in Angola and just got my remote worker DTV approved. I applied online through the South African embassy while at work and received approval within 7 working days. I provided my Wise account, contract, and a letter from my company stating I need to be available for training courses in Thailand and consultations with the rig via email and video call. The process was pretty straightforward.

Soft power only, as you aren't a remote worker.

Go to Thailand and visit the DTV visa shops. They all have different contacts, requirements. Find a deal that works for you. It's the best way. I paid $3000. But I didn't have to show any funds, do any programs, or complete it outside Thailand.

Got a remote worker DTV.

Gave my contract

500k thb in Aus bank account ( proof of funds)

Was asked for additional documents.

Supplied remote work verification letter ( that said I was approved to work remotely in south east Asia)

I got my soft power acceptance from king of muay thai in hua hin. I think it cost me $700 for 6 months of group classes. I still think DTV is a good deal, come and go as you wish for 5 years or just stay 5 years with a border run every 180 days.

The DTV is not for you as long as you enter exempt and only spend a few weeks at a time you’ll be fine my neighbor works a oil rig in the North Sea he’s in an out about every month been doing it for 20 years has no problems

Anonymous participant for the sake of £300 or so, definitely safer to get the DTV - id argue you are the perfect case for a DTV, multiple entries per year spending more time than advised on visa exemption.

I applied soft power and was asked 0 questions on employment, just had to show my 500k baht in savings and my Muay Thai (pre-paid) course 👍

Anonymous participant spend 179 days in Thailand and you will be exempt from registering and being liable for Tax.

Set up a limited company, then create yourself a job where you can work remotely on your business, even if you don’t.

Much more easier in my personal opinion

yes it’s easy mate, I’ve got a limited company in the uk and my DTV was passed after a few days. All you have to do is get a letter from your company to say you will be working for them whilst in Thailand, that’s how easy it was
