What should I include in my travel plan for a DTV visa application under the Muay Thai soft-power category?

Hi everyone! 😊

I’ve applied for the DTV under the soft-power category for Muay Thai at the embassy in Prague and have just received a request for some additional documents:

* Tickets to and out of Thailand+Proof of accommodation showing my name for the whole stay in Thailand

* A detailed travel plan explaining my activities in Thailand

* My Czech criminal record, legalized by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officially translated into English or Thai

But my main worry is the travel plan. Muay Thai isn’t a full-time activity, so what do people usually write in this additional supporting document?

Anyone has experience with this? I wonder how detailed it need to be. What else to include besides training schedule plus other activities and places you plan to visit/do?

If anyone has applied for the DTV through Muay Thai and can share what they submitted/or ideas how to give them a strong justification, I’d be supergrateful. Thanks in advance! 🙏
Answer summary
A user has applied for the DTV visa under the Muay Thai soft-power category and has been requested to submit additional documents, including a detailed travel plan. They seek advice on what to include in this travel plan, given that Muay Thai is not a full-time activity. Community members suggest that the travel plan should outline intentions to train regularly, enjoy Thai culture, and explore local attractions, while emphasizing a commitment to training. They also recommend booking accommodations that are refundable and planning activities around Muay Thai training.

Book an accommodation near the gym you are applying through, refundable (cancel it after you get your visa). Or, if the gym offers accommodation, ask them to write a letter saying you will be living with them and have paid for it.

‘Travel plan’ is you will be training Muay Thai and in your down time will be enjoying the sight and Thai culture/food. You don’t have to be specific, make sure to convey you’ll be mostly at the gym training. That’s what you need the visa for.

And Czech criminal record? I’m always doing it online using datová schránka, they didn’t accept it?

yeah this is the worst thing in all this -- because it means a whole profess called super legalization, aka additional steps and additional expense .

I did submit initially the digital version from the Czech egovernment (datová schránka).

Have you already applied for your DTV, Maria?🙏

All the best, Maria, there's hope that after all these steps/stamps and expenses the visa will be granted!

I have my DTV for a year now and I wanted to apply my kids 🙈 as I understood, they also need a super legalisation of birth certificates and for birth certificates they also need to legalise a translation as well after all. I was planning to submit only official notary translation

Hey
@Bob *********
, every gym that I know offers a sort of a package for either 6, 9 months or 1 year. I was training at another gym in Chiang Mai, but their "DTV package/program" was more expensive a

(Although shorter). And yes had to pay for it in in order to receive the documentation for visa application

Well, if you applied for Muay Thai means you want to practice it regularly, that would mean at least 2-3 times/week. Not a full time activity but if you apply for it, that’s what you should do and that is why you are getting the visa.

Same question here

I always wonder why the embassy asked applicant to show their return tickets if not yet approve, also the accommodation part as well🫠 (and I also worry about I would have to same question while I apply)

Dont over think it, just explain in your own words why you picked thailand and what you intend to do there and that you dont intend to work. I put things like I want to experience the culture, enjoy the food and explore the attractions.

How are you supposed to buy tickets and accommodation if you aren’t approved?

OP
FunAvocado4123 this is so true I know how to deal with the accommodation because it is something changeable/cancelable but with flight tickets it gets more expensive or complicated, in case there are delays with the visa approval
