I’ve been in Bkk since end of August of this year. I got the visa on arrival and an extension. My extension ends Sunday and I’m looking to get a 90 day visa outside of Thailand. Does anyone have any recommendations on best place to do this? And the fees associated with it. I have a US passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking recommendations for obtaining a 90-day single entry tourist visa outside of Thailand, following their previous visa on arrival and extension. The best places mentioned for this process include Thai Consulates or Embassies in nearby countries such as Vientiane, which is noted for a quick processing time of one business day. Users in the comments also suggest checking individual consulate websites for specific fees and procedures. It is clarified that for US passport holders, there are typically no restrictions when applying for these visas.

...is Vientiane OK for the OP...is American with one tourist visa plus extension...???

Tourist Visa, if you had previously some Tourist visas your application will be considered more carefully. Vientiane is now, in most cases, asking for proof of funds, Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up. Onward air ticket is not required.

No, I have not.

have you been in Thailand other times in 2019?

You can walk in at most Thai Consulates or Embassies. In this region, Singapore has a on line application system, Kuala Lumpur and Vientiane have a on line appointment system, so be aware to use these systems before you start to travel.

I can not make appointments for the OP, sometimes a little effort of yourselves are needed, but here he can make an account and an appointment.

Robert I am wondering if you have any current info on the backup on appointments in Vientiane? The OP has said that he has to leave Thailand by Sunday. The OP could end up having to spend some time in Laos waiting for his appointment which may or may not be an issue for him.

EDIT: Just saw you want a Single Entry Tourist Visa (good for 60 days). I think Vientiane is the best place to get it. Takes 1 business day.

I don't think it's possible. You'll need to enroll in a language school. Of course, you can go to Cambodia/ Laos/ Whereever for two weeks while a language school processes the paperwork.

is it still possible for me to get everything I need for an Ed visa by Sunday? I read it takes 2 weeks or so

@Garcia ****
If you want to stay and study the language, I recommend getting an ED visa instead to study Thai. Its good for 3 months, and a lot of consulates do not want to issue those visas IF you have a tourist visa already.

- Not over 50

- not married

- Yes to the 500k

- Not yet. Met with a recruiter recently

- no children

- I would love to volunteer but could not get clarification on the immigration issues associated with that

- yes, absolutely! I will continue studying the language and culture.

Best place is a Thai Consulate or Embassy in one of the neighbor countries or if you like to travel a little more pick one a little further away. Cost of the visa could be different so look at the website of the consulate in the place you like to visit. There are as far as I know, no restrictions for US passport holders to apply for a visa.
Robert *******
You apply in the morning, pick up the next working day in the afternoon is the procedure at most Consulates

@Garcia ****
Generally it takes 1 business day for the visa.

thank you Robert. I’m guessing the amount of time it takes to receive the visa if approved also varies? Is there a consulate I should stay away from?
Robert *******
you got a 15 day visa on arrival and an extension on this, i guess you got a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry and an Extension of Stay on that. And now you want a 90 day visa, I hope you mean the Single Entry Tourist Visa that is valid for 90 days, meaning you have to use this visa within 90 days and on entry you get 60 days of stay. If you mean a Non Immigrant Visa that gives you 90 days of stay when you enter Thailand you need to tell us why you think you can apply for this kind of visa.

that’s correct. Sorry for the confusion. I meant the single entry tourist visa.
