Hello everyone ๐Ÿค—

I am coming to Bangkok next week ๐Ÿค—

Just wanting to know a bit more about extending my tourist visa? What is the best way to do it easily?

I would have liked to apply for the 90 day but I am not in my country of citizenship.

Thank you so much for any insights and info ๐Ÿค—

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to extend their tourist visa upon arriving in Bangkok, especially since they cannot apply for a 90-day visa at their home country's consulate. Community members clarify that whether the user plans to arrive with a regular tourist visa or a visa-exempt stamp, they can apply for a 30-day extension at a local immigration office for a fee of 1,900 baht, provided they have the necessary documents.

Hi Tod... Thank you so much... I am arriving and getting the visa at the airport as I have done in the past.

I will be traveling on a us passport but I don't live in the US so won't be able to apply at the appropriate consulate... do you have any ideas about what I can do about this?

I would love to stay in Thailand longer than 60 days ๐Ÿค—

, You enter Thailand on visa-exempt scheme, not tourist visa, when you don't apply for Single/Multiple Entry Tourist Visa in advance to your travel. You will be stamped for 30 days without visa or pay a fee at the entry point. It is still eligible for 30 days tourism extension as Tod mentioned. You can to border bounce (go and back to neighbouring country) at the end of your stamp to enter on visa-exempt again. Or you can go to the Thai embassy in one of neighbouring country to apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa. All up to your decision.

And also, a few people have mentioned that I can leave to another country for a night and then get another 30 days on entry, is this right?

Thank you so much for your advice Tod ๐Ÿค— I hope you are having a lovely day ๐Ÿ™

So are you buying a real tourist visa before you come here from a thai consulate in the country you're in?

OR

Are you showing up here without any visa and getting stamped in free stamp entry for 30 days (visa exempt)?

Actually it doesn't matter ๐Ÿ™‚ you're allowed ONE 30 day extension on either entry at the immigration office where you stay for 1900baht.

This is a list of documents that can be required to get a 30 day extension once you're here
