ORIGINAL POSTERAfter expecting to get a normal 30day visa today in Samui, I have been told it is only possible to extend for another 7days. So now need to make a visa run (by flight) in the next 7 days. Has anyone got a recommendation of a Thai embassy, in a neighbouring country, that can give the 60day tourist visa? I have heard recently mixed reviews, some do and some do not? Any advice appreciated TIA :)

KL is very good, but have proof of an outward flight from Thailand and dress neatly (no beach wear) and you will be fine. Penang is getting stricter by many accounts, I would never go there.

You can get a 60 day tourist visa from the thai consulate in Penang, BUT you're going to need proof of 20K baht in a bank account, proof of onward travel in 60 days and proof of a hotel booking (for 3 to 5 days).
they really tightened up a while back. PLUS they only allow 100 applications a day to be turned in. If you don't meet the requirements they won't even let you in the gate.

60 days will cover me until I leave for the UK on the 10th of August. Then when I return will be on an education visa. Will not be extending the 60 day tourist visa.Sophie *******
