Which Thai embassies or consulates in neighboring countries can issue a 60-day tourist visa?

After expecting to get a normal 30day visa today in Samui, I have been told it is only possible to extend for another 7days. So now need to make a visa run (by flight) in the next 7 days. Has anyone got a recommendation of a Thai embassy, in a neighbouring country, that can give the 60day tourist visa? I have heard recently mixed reviews, some do and some do not? Any advice appreciated TIA :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on where to perform a visa run after receiving only a 7-day extension on their current 30-day visa in Samui, Thailand. They are looking for recommendations on Thai embassies or consulates in neighboring countries that can issue a 60-day tourist visa. Community responses suggest several locations, including Vientiane in Laos, Kuala Lumpur (KL) in Malaysia, and Penang, with specific requirements for each location being mentioned. Various community members also stress the importance of proper documentation and planning for a successful visa application.

Okay, I would say at this point
@Sop***
has been duly chastised for her lack of planning :O and has enough options to figure out how to go get a single entry tourist visa from a thai consulate in a neighboring country.

Good Luck (y)

So basically you didn't do your research and expected another 30 day extension after already getting one previously. Preparation and research is the key. ;)

KL is very good, but have proof of an outward flight from Thailand and dress neatly (no beach wear) and you will be fine. Penang is getting stricter by many accounts, I would never go there.

You can get a 60 day tourist visa from the thai consulate in Penang, BUT you're going to need proof of 20K baht in a bank account, proof of onward travel in 60 days and proof of a hotel booking (for 3 to 5 days).

they really tightened up a while back. PLUS they only allow 100 applications a day to be turned in. If you don't meet the requirements they won't even let you in the gate.

Great thanks
@Tod ********
, I have all of the above, minus hotel booking. I have flights booked to England on the 10th of August, money in Thai and English bank accounts. They won't proof of a hotel booked in Thailand? (sorry if that is a silly question)

60 days will cover me until I leave for the UK on the 10th of August. Then when I return will be on an education visa. Will not be extending the 60 day tourist visa.
