Hi, I have a friend who is needed to get her Non B VISA as she's started working at a new school. Her options are

1) savannaket (do you need to make an appointment)

2) Phon phem

3) Hochimin

4) Kuala Lumpur

Can anyone suggest what the best option would be?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on where to apply for a Non-B Visa since their friend is starting a new job in a Thai school. They mention four potential locations: Savannakhet, Phon Phem, Hochimin, and Kuala Lumpur. Several comments suggest that Savannakhet is straightforward, and it’s essential to check consulate websites for appointment requirements. Kuala Lumpur requires an online appointment, while Penang is described as hassle-free with no appointment necessary. Vientiane is also recommended. Overall, the best choice depends on convenience and the friend's location.

Vientienne followed by Penang and then HCM seems to be best the last several years

Make sure the school fills out the paper work for the correct embassy too.

The other consulate which is worth considering is Penang. Usually hassle free there and no appointment required.

Kuala Lumpur Thai Embassy requires an online appointment to be scheduled first. No walk-in service. Also, if this destination is chosen, use GRAB taxi app, otherwise you will be subjected to scam after scam. Also, pay for your hotel in cash on arrival as they do not issue deposit refunds on credit cards. It happened to me twice there. The 12Fly hotel is one to stay away from.

If she has all the paperwork, etc required then where wont be an issue. It's up to whatever is more convenient for her.

In regards to appointments, best to check individual consulate websites. Things can change overnight.

I imagine her location would help in recommending destinations. I can say though that Savannakhet is fairly straightforward and 'relaxed' regarding requirements
